Among industrialized nations, the United States has the largest number of homeless families. Not since the Great Depression have so many families been without homes.

Our social structure often discredits the nuturung abilities of fathers and may force separation of homeless fathers (in need) from their children. 

Many resources are dedicated to single mothers with limited thought given to raise awareness of the existence and needs of homeless single fathers with children.

Until a young man walked in my office with his 6 year old (red head, freckled faced) son and relunctantly disclosed "we are living in an abondonded shed,"  I had not been faced with how to serve SINGLE- HOMELESS-FATHERS.  Soon our staff would find no resources existed within 70 miles of our county to serve this underserved population.    

After the loss of sustainable income and despite his best efforts, the father's present income (Waffle House cook) would not support the family's basic needs.   After minutes of intense conversation, we could visualize the balancing act required to maintain the secret of homelessness while juggling underemployment, basic needs, school, homework, and hygiene while living in a shed.

Our goal is to give every child a chance to succeed.  We provide stabilization services for individuals and families as we work to guide them toward independent productivity and self sustainability.
