We use science-based methods to turn teachers into literacy experts and students into readers.
The Lucy Project is a registered 501(c)(3) organization offering school-based, multi-site reading remediation that gives students most in need free, daily, individualized tutoring by experts equipped with resources proven to successfully lead struggling readers to achieve grade-level reading proficiency or higher.

There is a Solution.
By leveraging our highly qualified experts and the generosity of our funders, The Lucy Project delivers free reading remediation to children in schools in underserved areas. In addition, we give free professional development to public school teachers in South Florida.
Lessons like these typically cost a prohibitive $130 per hour if paid for privately. We envision a Miami-Dade County where every struggling reader has equal access to the high-quality educational resources they need to thrive. We won't rest until the job is done. We believe in equity in education to improve literacy development in our community at large.

Every single penny is put to immediate use and ALL donations for to direct services.

$30 funds one hour of lessons for a struggling reader in Miami.

$60 covers the cost of books, materials, and manipulatives for a child in need.

$125 supports a specialist who works with 40 Kindergartners in Miami for a day.

$300 gives expert intervention for a week to 3 children with dyslexia.

$1000 funds specialized literacy training for a public school teacher in Miami.

$2500 provides specialized summer intervention for 5 children in need in Miami.
