Reading should not be a privilege. But in Miami, it still is.

Too many children are falling behind in reading. They want to learn. They try their best. But without access to expert help, they struggle year after year. Most families cannot afford private instruction. Most schools cannot offer the support these children need. We change that.

The Lucy Project brings expert reading intervention directly into public schools, after school programs, and summer learning sites. Some families pay. Many do not. Every child receives high quality, science-based instruction from specialists who know how to help them succeed.

We do more than provide lessons. We train public school teachers. We serve students with and without dyslexia. We offer books, materials, and hands-on tools that make reading possible. And we track progress until students are not just catching up, but are reading with confidence.

This work is possible because of people like you. Every single donation goes straight to direct services. Every dollar moves a child forward.

  • $30 funds one hour of lessons for a struggling reader in Miami

  • $60 covers the cost of books, materials, and manipulatives for a child in need

  • $125 supports a specialist who works with 40 kindergartners in Miami for a day

  • $300 gives expert intervention for a week to 3 children with dyslexia

  • $1000 funds specialized literacy training for a public school teacher in Miami

  • $2500 provides specialized summer intervention for 5 children in need in Miami

We believe in a future where every child in Miami-Dade can learn to read. Help us get there. We will not stop until the job is done.
