Arc of Maryland Inc

The Arc Maryland has been working to improve the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1950.  From modest beginnings as a small group of concerned parents, to the largest and strongest grassroots advocacy organization for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Maryland and their families.

• Our 5,000 plus members include people with developmental disabilities, parents and family members, educators, professionals, volunteers and interested citizens.
• We accomplish our work through the efforts of a professional staff, volunteers, ten local chapters and alliances with state and local organizations, coalitions and agencies.
• We touch 140,000 individuals through our legislative and public policy.  We advocate for thousands of children and adults on state waiting lists.
• The Arc Maryland is an integral part of a nationwide movement with more than 700 state and local chapters across the nation.
