LGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc.

The LGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc. has been serving the LGBTQ+ community in central Florida since 1978. The Center offers free wrap-around services in both Orlando and Kissimmee Florida; services include HIV/STI testing, mental health counseling, youth & senior programs, referrals to other community resources, and much more.  

On #GiveOutDay 2024, we are raising $10,000 to support the daily operations of the 4 unique locations The Center operates, as well as the multitude of programs supporting the LGBT+ community and its allies in central Florida. 

The LGBT+ Center Orlando (The Center), Inc began as a gay men’s crisis hotline in 1978. As the AIDS crisis overwhelmed the community, the organization shifted focus to connect LGBTQ+ individuals with activists fighting to save their lives in the epidemic. LGBTQ+ people gathered at the Center to organize housing for the sick and find ways to distribute life-saving medication to the dying. Through these efforts the Center grew into a safe space for the whole community. It was, and still is, the center of LGBTQ+ organizing in Orlando. The mission of the Center is to promote and empower the LGBT community and its allies through information, education, advocacy, and support.  

In the last 45 years, the Center has identified and met needs in the LGBTQ+ community and communities of color through advocacy and resources.

The Center's programs are designed to provide direct care and support in response to a variety of issues facing LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies living in central Florida.
