The Depression Project

Our goal at The Depression Project* is to change the stigma associated with those who have mental health challenges. Stigma is inaccurate beliefs about or judgment of a group of people. By increasing awareness and educating people on mental health, we hope to change the way people view and treat those with mental health challenges. We all should be able to recognize the signs of mental health issues and respond in a loving manner so that individuals will feel comfortable in getting the support they deserve. 

We all experience mental health issues to varying degrees. Some of us experience mild sadness, while others have extreme thoughts of harming themselves, and still others experience hallucinations and/or beliefs that are delusional. What ever the case, we all should feel comfortable in seeking the support we deserve. Through our services here at The Depression Project we strive to provide a welcoming environment that promotes honest, open, and transparent communication; which we believe creates a safe place for those of us facing mental health challenges to come together and receive encouragement and other support as we strive to overcome our individual challenges. We all should belong to a community where life does not have to suck.

Through your donations we aspire to provide all of our services free of charge to individuals seeking our support. We also want to eventually provide licensed counseling services and other mental health treatment options free of charge to individuals needing these services.
