The EAR Foundation of Arizona is part of the Arizona Early Hearing Detection and Intervention program and provides audiology consulting and program development to many agencies and organizations.

We also screen for vision and hearing at preschools and daycares!

There are four main ways in which The EAR Foundation of Arizona contributes to the hearing impaired community:

HEAR For Kids: providing a valuable service for newly identified children. This program works with the manufacturers of pediatric hearing aids to provide a hearing aid care kit for any child receiving new or loaner hearing aids.

Research: investigating genetic changes that contribute to ear disease and hearing impairment

Programs: helping identify children with late onset and progressive hearing loss and vision problems prior to entering school. This includes our BASICS screenings at daycares typically supported by First Things First and Head Start. After diagnosis, intervention can take over. By finding solutions to any impairments, children can better see and hear, enabling them to optimally learn during some of the most important years of their lives! This is esecially important for language acquisition and the building of social skills.

Early Hearing Detection and Intervention in Arizona: assisting Arizona's hospitals with the establishment of newborn hearing screening, tracking and follow-up programs
