Coastside Gives Matching opportunity: This Coastside Gives, we invite you to join us in supporting our garden and farm education programs. We’re thrilled to announce a generous $20,000 matching grant that will match your donation 1:1 now through midnight on May 2nd. And 3:1 during our Power Hour from 5:00-5:59PM on May 2nd. It's a TRIPLE - MATCH! 😀
Please help us reach our giving day goal and make the most of this matching fund opportunity so that all Coastside children learn how their food is grown and why it matters.
Imagine a world where every child grows up active, informed, engaged, and healthy.
We keep this in mind each time we deliver our garden-based lessons during the school day in local public elementary school gardens, at farm camp, and on field trips to the 2.5 acre San Mateo County School Farm we operate in El Granada.
We believe that everyone should have access to quality food systems education. Each year we serve over 4,000 students from the coastside and across San Mateo County with hands-on outdoor learning opportunities that inspire kids' natural curiosity and cultivate environmental awareness in the next generation. We see food and how it is grown as central to the health of the individual and the planet.
With The HEAL Project, students see where their food comes from, and discover how tasty produce picked fresh from the earth can be! When kids dig their hands into the soil, plant a seed, pick a vegetable, hike in the outdoors to experience first-hand what how water travels through a landscape, they make the connection between where their food comes from and how it is grown affects their health and the health of the environment around them.
All The HEAL Project's fun hands-on activities are rooted in solid science and support the aha! moments that enable everyone to understand the vital connections between ourselves and the world around us.
Join us to help teach kids where their food comes from and why it matters with a donation on May 2.
Today we've received a $20k matching challenge grant. That means that your gift today will be doubled. And if you can donate between 5pm & 5:59pm today, your gift will be TRIPLED - during our Power Hour!
Every little bit helps! It means the world to kids on the Coastside!
