The Moyo Foundation

The Moyo Foundation strives to make healthcare more widely accessible, especially in rural areas where barriers to healthcare, especially for women, are many. We are raising funds for a mobile healthcare vehicle so that we can bring critical women's healthcare and family planning to remote areas. Our Mugie nurse will travel to rural community areas along with Ekorian's conservation ambassador who will talk about wildlife conservation, bee-keeping for crop protection and sustainable honey harvesting, efficient land management and best-practices for livestock husbandry, and other topics. The vehicle will be equipped as a mini-clinic on wheels and allow women to receive the services they seek in a private and sanitary setting. 

Support of this endeavor to deliver healthcare resources to remote areas, is also support of conservation and education.  Family-planning services allow women to think responsibly about their families - spacing out their children for their own health, as well as the welfare of their children so that they can better provide for them in every way (education and nutrition). This empowerment of women is a giant step towards creating a positive cycle of sustainable development. A thoughtful population is key to conservation. It means an understanding and appreciation of the importance of wildlife and wild-lands for the survival of all living things. And key to developing that thoughtful population with an understanding of conservation? That's where education comes in.
