SMART provides low-income students access to an exceptional education and the skills needed to thrive in college and in life.

Compared to the national rate of 46% college enrollment for low-income students, since the launch of our high-school program 100% of SMART students have enrolled in college, forever altering the trajectory of their lives, and the lives of their families and communities.

In the 2015-16 year, SMART served more than 300 San Francisco students and their families. One of these was Mauricio, a graduating senior. As an undocumented, low-income, first-generation student Mauricio didn't have high hopes for his college prospects when he began his SMART journey. Through his 8 years with us, his confidence grew and he knew that college was not only attainable but necessary. Ultimately, Mauricio was awarded one of the nation's most competitive scholarships through The Posse Foundation and is now attending the University of Puget Sound.

We're so proud of Mauricio's growth and success, but we know there are so many more students with the same incredible need. With your help, we can reach more of them and help change the educational landscape of San Francisco.
