The Stephen Foster Drama Association is committed to providing a quality and memorable entertainment experience while sustaining the legacy and music of America’s first great composer, Stephen Collins Foster.

The Stephen Foster Drama Association produces The Stephen Foster Story as well as an additional Broadway-style show and the Live at the Park Concert Series each summer. Located in Nelson County,  the productions include a cast of 45 members including singers, dancers, actors and live musicians performing more than fifty of Stephen Foster’s songs, including Oh, Susanna!, Beautiful Dreamer and My Old Kentucky HomeThe Stephen Foster Story, performed at the J. Dan Talbott Amphitheatre, on the grounds of My Old Kentucky Home State Park, is an internationally acclaimed production that shines a spotlight on the state song of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  The amphitheatre, located in historic Bardstown - voted 2012 Most Beautiful Small Town in America by Rand McNally & USA Today - is a special resource for our production, providing a beautiful setting for outdoor theatre.  The Stephen Foster Drama Association continues to offer a professional training program for young actors and education programs, Applause! and Classroom Under the Stars, which provide an opportunity for school students to experience live theatre.
