$10,000 Goal

Today, your gift will ensure a welcoming and lasting Temple for generations.

This year, our goal of raising $10,000 will help us continue to provide the essential religious, spiritual, educational, and social justice programs that enrich the lives of our members and the greater community. These funds allow us to foster growth, sustain vital programs and services, and maintain our beautiful buildings, The Temple Cemetery, and campuses.

Our History

Founded in 1843, The Temple is Kentucky’s oldest and largest Jewish synagogue and the sixth Reform congregation established in America. As a cornerstone of the Jewish community in the Kentuckiana region, we have a proud history of fostering Jewish life, culture, and learning.

At The Temple, we welcome all who seek a Jewish home, offering a broad range of opportunities for religious worship, spiritual growth, and community engagement. Our mission is to make Judaism vital, relevant, positive, and lasting—not just for our members but for all.

Your support sustains our synagogue today, making Reform Judaism accessible to people of all backgrounds in our community, and helps ensure the strength of our inclusive model of Judaism for generations to come.

Programs You Support

  • JLAB (Jewish Learning and Belonging): Recently reimagined, our religious school offers innovative and engaging educational experiences for children and families. Your contributions ensure we provide quality education and profound youth experiences while enriching our program offerings.

  • Celebrating Diversity: We honor the diverse voices within our community through Interfaith Shabbat, MLK Shabbat, and Pride Shabbat. These gatherings bring us together to celebrate our shared values, deepen our understanding, and foster a stronger, more inclusive community.

  • Community in Song: Music is the heartbeat of our spiritual life. Programs such as Artist in Residence, the No Rehearsal Choir, Shir Chadash, and The Temple Tunes provide opportunities for all ages to join in song and connect with our rich musical heritage.

  • Connecting Young Adults: Our Young Adult Group creates vibrant connections through events like Ice Cream Socials, Sushi in the Sukkah, and Young Adult Seders. These gatherings are essential for fostering a sense of belonging and community among our younger members.

  • Repairing the World: Guided by the Jewish value of tikkun olam, we are deeply committed to social justice. Initiatives like Blankets and Blessings, Fill the Freezer, Sandwich Making for Street Reach, and WRJ Hanukkah Brighteners enable us to impact the lives of those in need.

  • Worship and Ritual: Our congregation gathers regularly to connect through worship and ritual, including Shabbat Services, High Holy Days, and Congregational Seders. We find meaning, solace, and joy in our Jewish identity in these sacred moments.

A Legacy for Generations

Through our L’dor V’dor fundraising campaign, we aim to build a sustainable future, ensuring that The Temple remains a vibrant center of Jewish life for generations to come. We will amplify our endowment, providing sustainable revenue to foster growth, sustain vital programs and services, and maintain our beautiful buildings, The Temple Cemetery, and campuses for years to come. Your gift of tzedakah (charity) today is not just about sustaining The Temple now; it’s about ensuring the strength of our welcoming model of Judaism for generations to come.

Join us in making a lasting impact - Today! Support The Temple’s mission to bring the beauty, depth, ethics, and joy of Judaism to life and help us continue to serve as a beacon of hope, learning, and community for all who seek a Jewish home.
