I used to hate running. For those of you who know me nowadays, this is likely surprising. In the last few years, I've completed a half marathon and many 5-10ks.

When I first started running, I realized what I hated was the start of the run. But I soon discovered the "runner's high" at the finish - there is nothing better than the final sprint at the end of whatever distance I originally set.

Our fiscal year ends June 30 - we started this year with some lofty goals, including raising more money in one year than ever before. And we have already hit that distance thanks to you!

But I challenge us to end on a "runner's high" - will you help us finish stronger than ever before too?

We've set a very specific goal ($5,200 to be exact) for #GiveLocal757. Meeting this goal is the difference between walking and sprinting into the next programming year.

I know we can make this a sprint - won't you help us?

Who We Are

Tidewater Arts Outreach matches local artists with opportunities to share their creativity and compassion in support of Hampton Roads residents who are in nursing homes, hospitals, shelters or are isolated from society in other ways.

TAO’s outreach programs are typically one hour in length, consisting of interactive music programs, participatory spoken word/poetry and songwriting workshops, hands-on visual arts projects and interactive performing arts presentations. Artists are recruited, trained and compensated by TAO. Participants never pay to take part in an arts outreach program.
