TIGERRS is building safety, solidarity, and belonging for trans, intersex & gender-expansive Minnesotans
TIGERRS is a nonhierarchical collective created by transgender, intersex, and gender-expansive people for our communities. We exist because we know how deeply underserved we are, and how important it is to have a space where you are safe to exist as yourself.
Despite being a sanctuary state, trans and intersex Minnesotans are still navigating isolation and barriers to care. Children’s Minnesota had to suspend gender-affirming health services for patients under 18 after the Trump administration threatened Medicaid cuts.
Young people and families often have nowhere to turn. TIGERRS fills those gaps by creating consistent, affirming spaces where people of all ages can connect and grow together.
Imagine This
An 8-year-old kid just left a small town in Texas where they were shunned for who they are. Their family uproots their entire life to come to Minnesota to seek safety, community, and access to better medical care. That child walks into a room for the first time filled with other kids like them. Hearing their name and pronouns respected without question. Interacting with adults who have their same lived experience. Watching their parents exhale as they meet other families who get it.
That moment of belonging can change a life. TIGERRS makes moments like this possible every single week.

Our Vision
We envision a strong, intergenerational community united by our shared identities and mutual support.
Through social connection, resource sharing, and collective care, we build spaces for all kinds of people. We practice community care together! TIGERRS develops and distributes vital resources such as:
Art and activity supplies
Food and shared meals
Educational materials on our unique healthcare needs
Mental and emotional support underpinned by an expansive understanding of gender
Why Your Support Matters
Our priority is to consistently deliver the programs our community relies on and we can’t do that without you! We need this now more than ever because the nonprofit landscape is dramatically changing. Grants and other sources of funding are disappearing and your support directly funds the continuation of these vital programs.
Your donation allows for:

Why TIGERRS
No other organization in Minnesota does the work we do, in the way we do it. TIGERRS is rooted in mutual aid and collective care. We are accountable to our community because we are our community. With your support, we can continue creating spaces where trans, intersex, and gender-expansive people (especially our youth) know they are not alone, not broken, and deeply valued for who they are.
Sustaining donors are the backbone of TIGERRS’ work. If you give monthly, you help create a dependable source of funding that ensures our community always has access to the programs they deserve. Thank you for believing in this work. Thank you for helping us build a future where everyone has a place to belong. We appreciate your love and support!
