TPOCC is an organization to inspire and nurture collaboration among communities of color dedicated to anti-racism and fighting transphobia and the empowerment of transgender persons of color. We work to strengthen and mobilize individuals, families, and communities by changing laws, educating the public, and building social and economic strength among all persons of color.
Give OUT Day 2014 is an opportunity to support the leadership of transpeople of color and to continue to build a network of trans communities of color, specifically.
This is TPOCC's first Give OUT Day but our fifth year of existence. We've done lots with little.
We have been able to provide outstanding, cutting edge and first of it's kind cultural programming such as "The Sisterhood: Transisters of Color." We continue educate on our issues by working to bring over a hundred trans* people to Washington, D. C. to lobby Congress, with nearly a third of attendees being people of color; working with the Department of Justice, Community Relations Service on the roll out of of their law enforcement training and partnering with the National Anti-violence Project to combat violence against our community.
With your support, we can continue this work and do much more. We need your help to make this a success!
