The Trans Housing Coalition (THC) is an Atlanta-based, Trans-led organization that began as a photography and grassroots crowdfunding project to get chronically homeless Black Trans women off the streets. Formerly known as the Homeless Black trans women fund, it quickly evolved into a unique opportunity to alleviate the chronic homelessness among the trans community in Atlanta, especially among Black & brown Trans people.

THC utilizes a housing-first, person-centered approach to get Trans folks into permanent, affirmative housing.

Since our founding, we have:

  • Provided rental/housing assistance to over 200 Trans and gender non-conforming Georgians
  • Disbursed over $100,000 in emergency grants in the Fall of 2020
  • Provided consistent housing and wrap-around services to our nearly 40 program participants throughout the pandemic
  • Built a team of paid staff and board members who are majority Trans, Black, and Latinx
  • Purchased the first trans-owned house for transitional housing in Atlanta
  • Awarded Trans Housing Atlanta Program, a local mission-aligned organization, $25,000
  • Partnered with several organizations, including Intown Collaborative Ministries, gaining access to city-funded housing vouchers, which we have secured for over 40 clients. This means that their rent will be paid for a full year.

To keep the momentum going, we need your support! Donate today to ensure that THC can realize a vision to end chronic homelessness & support a better quality of life for the Trans & gender-nonconforming community in the greater Atlanta area.
