Transitional Bridges

Transitional Bridge's mission is dual-purposed.

Our mission entails increasing the delivery of sensitivity and compassion inspired through art. When a loved one passes away in an institutional setting, family members are frequently handed back their belongings in a plastic bag. We're here to help change this practice and provide a compassionate alternative.

Using my mother's artwork, I designed Transitional Belongings Bags, sympathy cards, and door hangers for hospitals and in-patient hospices. Handing over belongings in a bag designed to comfort is an empathetic alternative to plastic bags and is good for the environment!

Transitional Belongings Bags offer a new solution to replace single-use plastic belongings bags used in healthcare when handing over and transferring patients’ belongings.

Our second purpose is to reduce the financial burdens patients experience due to serious injury or illness. The Patient Assistant Program provides small grants to help individuals cover costs for items such as food, rent, daycare, utilities, transportation, medicine, and other medical expenses. Since we launched the program last year, your generosity has enabled Transitional Bridges to assist forty individuals in fourteen states. Transitional Bridges consistently receives requests for assistance, affirming patients continue to experience financial burdens.
