As a community by and for trans and gender-expansive people, this has been one of the most difficult years in the history of Transmission Ministry Collective. Both individually and collectively, we have all felt the precarity, scarcity, and fear of this political moment.

A recent study shows that 48% of surveyed trans adults in the US have either already relocated and/or are considering relocating to a different state in response to legal and sociopolitical hostility towards trans people. 45% of respondents expressed a desire to move out of the country.

Anti-trans laws and policies continue to proliferate at an unprecedented rate, threatening our access to healthcare, our freedom of speech, the validity of our legal documents, and our ability to exist freely in public spaces.

Amidst this reality, we need your help to keep building interconnected ecosystems of care, grounded in the love of God and community.

Our goal in 2026 is to ensure our work at Transmission Ministry Collective is supported and sustainable. Drawing on the radical traditions and practices of our ancestors in faith and in queer community, we want to put down deep roots that will allow us to weather what’s to come.

This means expanding and deeply resourcing the networks of volunteers who keep many of our programs going. It means connecting more churches and ministry leaders with robust, trans-led education on how to build faith communities where trans people can truly thrive. It means replenishing our mutual aid fund so we can continue offering direct, material support to trans people experiencing the effects of this crisis. It means strengthening the infrastructure of our support groups and online community spaces so they continue to be places of refuge and safety as the need for them increases.

In this moment, we don’t have to stay isolated and afraid. Strengthened by the power of the Spirit, we can recognize the abundance that surrounds us and share it with one another. This year, an incredibly generous donor has offered to match up to $15k during the month of December, which means we have the possibility of raising $30k by the end of 2025.
