TISC is where sailing starts!

At TISC we envision every person having the chance to experience the water through sailing. TISC teaches life skills and respect for the environment through sailing. We provide facilities, boats, and sailing instruction for children and adults of all ages, skill levels, physical and mental abilities, ethnicities ans socioeconomic backgrounds. TISC students participate in positive, skill building experiences learning water safety, responsibility, respect, communication, teamwork, leadership, and appreciation for their environment.

TISC provides scholarships to all youth who qualify. We provide full scholarships to those on government assistance or with a household income of $40,000 or less and partial scholarship (50% off tuition) to those with a combined household income of $70,000 or less. TISC also provides sailing orientation to groups and organizations at little or no cost.

Part of TISC's mission is to promote public access to the San Francisco Bay. Each year we host FREE community events encouraging the general public to get out on the water and join our sailing community of students, friends, families, volunteers, and staff. These no-cost events are a great opportunity to enjoy a day on the bay while learning more about our programs and scholarships. During these events, free sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, activities, and entertainment for the entire family are offered.
