Trees Atlanta

Imagine if your doctor could prescribe something that reduced stress, improved mood, lowered blood pressure, and strengthened community, all without any side effects. That prescription already exists: nature. Research shows that spending just 20 minutes in a natural space can reduce stress and improve mental health.

Urban forests don't just beautify neighborhoods. They help people thrive. But healthy forests need care to stay healthy, and we need your help to keep that care going.

Restoring native plant habitat is vital to preserving biodiversity. Each patch of native habitat becomes part of a collective effort to nurture and sustain the living landscape for birds and other animals.

This Giving Tuesday, help us raise $90,000 to restore the health of a green space near you.

For over 40 years, Trees Atlanta has protected Atlanta's urban forest. Our conservation team is actively removing invasive species like kudzu and reestablishing native plants in 43 green spaces across metro Atlanta. Over 85% of Atlanta residents live within a 10-minute walk of a park, and Trees Atlanta is working to ensure those green spaces are healthy for our communities.

Each green star on this map represents a green space Trees Atlanta is working in to keep our urban forests healthy.

Throughout this campaign, we'll be spotlighting green spaces where we have more work to do.

Chosewood Park

Since 2015, we have been working with the Friends of Chosewood Park to restore this patch of urban forest by removing invasive trees and shrubs. But funding has been patchy and invasive plants such as English ivy, kudzu, and wisteria have made a comeback.  Our aim is to restart restoration efforts in this park located in southeast Atlanta.
