Trio House Press

Since 2023, the nonprofit publisher Trio House Press has been based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. From 2012 - 2023, Trio House Press operated out of Florida, and regularly published 3-4 poetry titles per year. Since we moved to Minnesota, we have committed to grow the press, publishing 5 poetry titles in 2024, and expanding our list to include creative nonfiction, starting in 2025.  

Trio House Press' mission is to publish poetry and prose that moves, inspires, and encourages connection, empathy, and understanding. Our vision is to publish several books of poems and prose annually by emerging and established writers in order to increase the availability of new and diverse literature, to provide educational materials to promote understanding of literature and its personal and cultural relevance for students and the general public, and to encourage the artistic process of writing poetry and prose.

Our 2024 poetry titles, published in July, have garnered much critical acclaim and a large readership, with reviews in Publisher's Weekly, features in Poetry Magazine, the Academy of American Poets website, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and more. Several books have been featured on recommended reading lists from Lit Hub, The Washington Post, and other outlets. Our authors have read in many reading series, events and conferences, including the Dodge Poetry Festival, the Mississippi Book Festival, the Indianapolis Meet and Author Be An Author workshop, and Poets in Pajamas.

We think we're succeeding in our mission and vision, but in order to keep expanding our reach and amplifying diverse voices, we need your help! Your donation will support us as we work to bring new readers into poetry and creative nonfiction.

Something new we've put into place this year is a commitment to publishing Minnesota authors, and working with them as developmental editors on their manuscripts - something more and more rare in the literary landscape, because it is so time consuming and requires resources to pay these talented editors. Your donation will help an author realize their dream of collaborating with an editor to shape the book they've always dreamed of writing and publishing.
