The goal of this educational project is to develop specific tools to help students to understand the meaning of child trafficking- a modern day form of slavery. In addition, through the project the TRONIE FOUNDATION strives not only to create educational curriculum to prevent exploitation of children, but also t o help restore the children who have been affected by this crime so that they can begin to rebuild their lives.

We are unique.

Why is The Tronie Foundation so effective? There are thousands of dedicated people and organizations around the world fighting human trafficking and helping victims. But The Tronie Foundation is the only one founded by two former victims who are working to include the survivor voice in finding solutions to this global scourge. People around the world respond to this voice.

A Foundation for the Cause

In 1999 Trong and Rani became advocates and a strong voice for the issue of human trafficking and in 2006 Rani and Trong started The Tronie Foundation to help raise awareness about enslavement, the gravest human rights challenge in the world today.  Their personal stories give a voice to the most exploited and forgotten individuals of this blight on humankind.

October 3, 2013, Rani Hong, survivor and President of the Tronie Foundation addressed the General Assembly of the United Nations gathered in New York City.  Her goal was to give voice to the continued plight of millions of enslaved people throughout the world, in part through the designation of a day being formally set aside in which the world recognizes these issues, and reminds the world of the need to protect the rights of victims of human trafficking.

We are happy to report that the United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 68/192 on December 18, 2013 marking July 30th of every year the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

Our Vision: A world free of slavery with every individual experiencing equality and freedom to pursue one’s full potential.
