Museum of Truckee History

Museum of Truckee History is a timeline of Life, Individuals, Industry, and Railroading in and around Truckee thru the professional display of artifacts and exhibits. Truckee is the main corridor across the Sierras for: 

• The early Indian crossings and their summer camps,

• The westward bound pioneer emigrations, 

• The Transcontinental Railroad and

• The highways of Interstate-80, US-40, Lincoln Highway & Dutch Flat Road 

• Along this path, the following industries developed:

• Logging 

• Ice harvesting 

• Tourism 

• Truckee has survived the wild times of Jibboom street, the fun of the ice palace and benefited from the visions of Charles McGlashan.
