Veil Parasol

With the blessing and under the direction from Grand Master / Root Guru Sheng-yen Lu, a Living Buddha and manifestation of Amitabha Buddha , we are establishing new Buddhist temple in San Mateo, California. Our hope is to spread the teaching of Buddha wisdom (dharma) and to help sentient beings, providing such opportunity for all to have affinity, obtain immense merit and fulfill vows.  

We will serve as local chapter of True Buddha School Religious Denomination. We are 501(c)3 tax exempt religious organization, and tax-deductible receipt can be provided upon request.

Our abbot is Lama Alfred / Shi Lian Yang has been ordained since 1994 (over 15 years) and been a bilingual (English, Chinese) dharma teacher throughout California (USA), Taiwan, South East Asia (Indonesia, Singapore, Hongkong), and few European countries ( England, France).  He is a  very talented Chinese calligrapher, has a Masters degree from Texas A&M, and a California licensed architect.

Our primary Buddhist practice follows Shakyamuni Buddha teaching, including few fundamentals such as karma, affinity, reincarnation, impermanence, nirvana and Vajrasatva yoga. We offer weekly meditation, praying and chanting class, funeral service, comfort care, and marriage blessing. The whole practice is based on both wisdom and compassion. We are operated by donation basis.
 
We also have charity programs to serve the True Buddha Students and their families in need of temporary aid for basic necessities, e.g., food, transportation, housing and funerals, etc. in the community.
