True Competitors is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to connect children with professional athletes by providing a safe and personalized environment within children’s hospitals across the United States.

Our founder Casey Coleman is a professional baseball player, currently in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Casey has devoted his life off the field to building and providing a strong support system for children and their families in their battle against life threatening diseases. 

Casey hatched this idea after sending encouraging videos of himself with other team members in the clubhouse to a teammates son who was battling cancer, Miles. Casey was able to see the positive impact it had on Miles immediately. Miles’ attitude became more upbeat as he felt he had others in the battle with him and his family felt the support knowing that others cared about their son.

We are developing a mobile application that will allow children to contact their favorite players and teams using text, photos and video. Your donation will go towards the total development of the app.

Since that experience, Casey has set out to improve children’s daily lives in hospitals across the country. Casey has made many visits to local hospitals with teammates throughout his career and noticed that often times a connection can be lost with a child after leaving the hospital.

Every day there are thousands of children battling life-threatening obstacles. We are here to build a team of support for those children so that they can feel the strength of teamwork.
