The Tucson Girls Chorus (TGC) was founded in 1985 and continues to expand the musical tradition of choral singing under the musical leadership of director Dr. Marcela Molina. The program offers girls throughout the Tucson area from the Kindergarten to 12th grade the opportunity to develop vocal and performing skills in one of the five choirs. Recently, an Alumnae Choir was created along with a Satellite Choir serving low income communities.  Choirs meet a minimum of once a week for rehearsals, perform at various local events, attend a summer camp, and participates in national and international tours.

The TGC provides vocal instruction, music theory & musicianship, social interaction, performance opportunities, and the chance to serve as ambassadors of the Southwest nationally and the United States internationally. The TGC allows singers to nurture skills in areas such as: self-sufficiency, self-confidence, accountability, responsibility, acceptance of others, self-discipline, and comfortable body image.

The mission of the Tucson Girls Chorus is to prepare a diverse group of young women to be confident leaders through participation in a well-constructed educational program that emphasizes music, performance, leadership training, and community service.
