Tucson Values Teachers (TVT), a nonprofit organization, leads the region in respecting, rewarding and investing in teachers as a means of attracting and retaining the very best teacher workforce.

RESPECT - TVT Works to Heighten Respect for Teaching through:
- Teachers Voices: Original radio and television segments produced in partnership with Arizona Public Media, Cox Communications and the University of Arizona College of Education, which highlight the professionalism and commitment of teachers
- Teacher Excellence Awards: Award presented each month, in partnership with OfficeMax, to celebrate excellent teachers who are nominated by the community.
- Media and Social Media: Inspired more than 100 media stories in local, regional and national media that highlighted the professionalism and critical role of the teaching profession; established a strong social media presence with 4,000 (and growing) followers on Facebook and Twitter and through a monthly newsletter that reaches more than 9,000 teachers, 90% of the 10,000 district, private and public school teachers in the region
REWARD – TVT Works To Build Economic Reward Commensurate with Teachers’ Role in Economic and Civic Future through:
- Tucson Supplies Teachers: Region-wide supply drive in partnership with Walgreens and the Community Finance Corporation that has distributed more than $300,000 in basic classroom supplies to all district, charter and private schools in Southern Arizona.
- Teacher Discount Card: More than 60 businesses provide year-round discounts to teachers on a wide range of goods and services.
INVEST – TVT Drives Investment in Teachers’ Professionalism and Growth through:
- Teachers in Industry: Stimulated more than $1 million in investments from nearly 30 businesses as matching funds for teacher salaries as part of the UA/TVT internship program, known as MASTER-IP, offered in collaboration with the University of Arizona and funded by Science Foundation Arizona
- Teacher Day at UA: Free professional development sessions are offered at this celebration of National Teacher Appreciation Week that spotlights University of Arizona programs and initiatives available for area classrooms.
