Turning Point Foundation

For 28 years, Turning Point has been helping the most vulnerable in our community get off the street and get back to productive lives as contributing members of our community.   Turning Point touched the lives of 762 mentally ill homeless people, from providing basic services like a cup of coffee or a hot meal, to case management and housing assistance, to finding permanent housing for 138 people that were homeless.

Turning Point's Community Outreach Program showed that 11% of the homeless were Veterans and 30% of those were suffering from mental illness.  Turning Point felt compelled to take action and we expanded our programs to address the individual needs of our Veterans bringing together the social services in Ventura County, creating a safety net of support for those that have given so much.  We bought and remodeled a building and opened the Veterans Transitional Housing facility in August and now home to 10 Veterans.
