The Valedictorian Project

$10,000 Goal

The Valedictorian Project (TVP) supports high-achieving students from Boston, Brockton, Chelsea, Lawrence, and Holyoke public high schools as they navigate college and launch their careers. Through a unique dual-mentor model, each student is paired with both a peer and a senior mentor — providing a wide range of guidance and support across their college years. TVP actively recruits a diverse mentor community, many of whom share similar backgrounds and identities to the students they support.

Today, TVP serves approximately 200 scholars, and the program continues to grow. This spring, we will celebrate the graduation of roughly 30 students from our third cohort, while welcoming ~80 new students into the program.

Over 90% of TVP's scholars identify as individuals of color, and over 70% come from households where a parent or guardian did not earn a bachelor's degree. TVP is committed to ensuring that these students — who arrive with exceptional records and tremendous potential — have the support they need to thrive.

To address the financial pressures that can derail even the most motivated students, TVP launched the Futures Fund, a stipend program that provides resources for unexpected costs incurred while attending college. TVP also partners with the Rappaport Foundation to offer a summer fellows program; this past summer, 50 students received a $5,000 stipend to support academic and career-building activities.
