What happens when a committed group of people come together to create opportunity for themselves and their community? Union Capital is born!

ONE YEAR AGO:

UCB was an idea on paper, a group of committed community members and organizers, and you, our supporters.

TODAY:

UCB is a 501(c)3 nonprofit with 200 members, ten partner organizations, a founding Board of Directors, a core staff of five, and you, our supporters. YOU have built this organization with us. YOU have turned social capital into financial capital to lift Boston communities. And with YOUR CONTINUED support, families can continue to get ahead by giving back.

ONE YEAR FROM NOW:

YOUR CONTRIBUTION will fund more rewards and more impact, and allow UCB to grow to 500 members. Our online rewards store will ensure members are able to exchange points for real rewards that make a difference in their life.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION will develop UCB’s Diamond Leaders Fellowship Program, which trains Union Capitalists to lead other members.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION will prove the model that communities can be the sources of their own success, that organized human and social capital can positively impact families and communities.

Will you support our growth and impact today?

What is UCB?

UCB’s innovative mobile app and community organizing model builds Boston’s social capital by connecting people, organizations, and resources. Union Capitalist members earn social and financial rewards by engaging with our mission-driven partner schools, health centers, and community programs. Union Capital leaders build one-on-one relationships with every member to connect to individual goals and share resources. We mentor and train leaders who build community awareness of resources, and opportunities to engage and organize. Our members - Union Capitalists - are members of our partner institutions, which are focused on the core components of overcoming poverty:

  • Education (KIPP Academy Boston, Nurtury Early Childhood Centers, Thrive In 5 early childhood resource program, Smart from the Start, First Teacher, and Boston Promise Initiative)

  • Health (Codman Square Health Center)

  • Finance (Family Independence Initiative)

  • Community (Project Hope, and Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative)

Through UCB, mission-driven organizations increase their enrollment and impact, and residents increase their social and financial capital.
