Ujamaa Farmer Collective

Securing access to resources for the success of Black farmers in the Greater Sacramento, CA Region.

California’s future depends on food security, regenerative land stewardship, and strong local food systems. Ujamaa Farmer Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to expand access to land, agricultural infrastructure, and cooperative economic models in the Greater Sacramento region.


Our Work Centers On:

  • Securing long-term land access for Black farmers

  • Building shared infrastructure, tools, and production systems

  • Providing hands-on, experiential agricultural education

  • Creating pathways for youth and emerging growers to engage in food production

  • Strengthening local food resilience through community engagement


Our 5-Year Growth Goals

We are currently raising funds to expand our capacity and directly support our community through:

  • Land Acquisition: Acquiring and stewarding farmland for Black farmers.

  • Infrastructure: Developing essential farming and processing facilities.

  • Shared Resources: Purchasing heavy equipment for collective use.

  • Education: Expanding hands-on agricultural programming for youth and new growers.

  • Sustainability: Strengthening the operational foundation of the collective.
