UMANA Foundation

The UMANA Foundation is a 501 c-3 nonprofit scientific and educational arm of UMANA (Ukrainian Medical Association of North America).                       The Foundation was established in 1996, and has funded various projects  expanding  medical education and knowledge among Ukrainians worldwide.

   The Foundation has awarded over 57 scholarships to medical and dental students in the United States and Canada. It has helped to certify over 575 campers,counselors and educators in basic life support skills such as CPR and First Aid.

 The Foundation has supported several conferences such as the UMANA       Scientific Conferences, (most recent "Rehabilitation and Reintegration-Helping Ukrainians Help Themselves"held in Washington DC with international participation), Friends of Radiology Conference in Ukraine and others.

Recent projects (see photos below):

Equipped a first grade class in dddd Donetsk with school supplies to help implement the new curriculum  including more science education. 

Production and distribution of Ukrainian language pill dispensers -таблетниці. These are difficult to find in the diaspora as well as Ukraine. Patient  education was provided stressing the importance of medication compliance  resulting in a decreased risk of medication errors.

 Support for the nonprofit organization WFUMA (World Federation of Ukrainian Medical Associations) in the promulgation of official Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) courses in Ukraine by supplying "UMANIKINS" to the  participants.
