Umoja Community Education Foundation (UCEF) is dedicated to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of Black/African American and other students from historically underserved communities.
We serve over 22,000 students across 80 campuses in the state of California through programs through the lens of Afro-centric pedagogy. Umoja creates spaces where students are seen, supported, and empowered to thrive on campus, in their communities, and beyond. And across our campuses and communities, the evidence of our work is clear.
Each year, Black students enter higher education carrying dreams, talent, and limitless potential. Yet access, resources, and opportunity remain uneven.
