Unchained at Last

Most children in the United States grow up dreaming of their wedding day. They dream of finding the perfect man or woman, falling in love, and getting married. Most children assume they will have a choice in whom they will marry. What if you didn't?

What if you were a young girl, maybe sixteen years of age, and your parents told you you were to marry a man you'd never met. If you didn't you would be kicked out, and cut off financially without so much as a high school degree. So you agreed to the marriage. What if that man were abusive? What if he sexually, physically, and emotionally abused you, and you were powerless to stop it? If you were alone, isolated, and no one would help you?

This is reality for many women in the United States. Forced marriage happens here. Let's end it.
