  The Underwood Youth Complex(UYC) in the Underwood-Petersville Community, Florence, AL was orginally founded in 1961. It is a totally volunteer driven organization, deicated to providing today's youth with valuable life skills through the love of athletic. The UYC is overseen by an annually elected volunteer Board of Directors. Each year approximately a thousand kids from the local area, ages three through eighteen participate in the Fall and Spring T-Ball, Softball and Baseball programs. Additionally, a New Horizons league offered by UYC shares the love of softball with mentally and/or physically challenged participants of all ages.
