United Way of Cowlitz & Wahkiakum Counties

A nonprofit organization

United Way of Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties is committed to lifting families out of poverty, ensuring children receive a quality education and keeping seniors connected.

We are proud to have launched an initiative to ensure that by 2032, 80% of local children are prepared for kindergarten.

Local children deserve a strong start in life, and investing in a child in their early years helps ensure they have the skills they need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. By investing in children, we can make a difference in their lives and in our entire community for generations to come.

Access to books and a chance to sit and read with a caregiver are essential to building the foundation for a lifetime of learning and reading.

We are the local affiliate of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, providing free, age-appropriate books to children each month from birth to age five.  Since this program started in our community, over 6,500 children and their families have benefitted from this program.
