Cora’s Kids is addressing the critical shortage of affordable, high-quality childcare in neighborhoods across New Milford. With 75% of children under five having all parents in the workforce, the local childcare infrastructure meets less than half the demand. Cora’s Kids bridges this gap by empowering minority women to establish and expand home-based child care businesses, ensuring working families have access to reliable, culturally aligned, and flexible care.access to reliable, culturally aligned, and flexible care.

Who We Are

United Way of Western CT fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in Southern Litchfield County, with a focus on struggling, hard-working households we call ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed).

Our Healthy Savings programs helps hardworking, struggling families afford healthy food. It provides up to $10 in free, fresh produce every week to program participants, as well as $50 or more of discounts on other healthy food items.
