United Way of Yuma County hopes to create lasting change in our community by focusing on the building blocks for a good life – education, income and health. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable and when people are healthy.

In order to create maximum impact and achieve long-lasting results in the Yuma community, we've implented the following programs:

Junior Achievement BizTown: JA Biztown fosters work-readiness and entrepreneurship skills in Yuma County Children. By giving to United Way, you can send a child to a “student-sized town” where he/she can go through real life scenarios that promote financial stability.

Kindercamp: A FREE targeted intervention school-readiness program that helps local children become better prepared for kindergarten.  This program is designed to help children develop social and literacy skills while supporting the successful transition of the entire family into kindergarten.

FamilyWize: FREE discount prescription cards to all Yuma County residents. Each card is free, immediate/unlimited use, and accepted at every chain and most independent pharmacies.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance: Helps eligible Yuma-area residents access free tax preparation and filing services. Any resident with an annual income of $52,000 can visit any of the 5 Yuma County sites to have his/her taxes prepared for FREE.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library United Way hopes to instill the love of reading by giving every child a book of their very own. Any preschool child living in Yuma County is eligible to receive one FREE book mailed to his/her home every month until he/she turns five years old.
