United Women in Business Foundation Inc

In January 2010, a group of alumnae from The George Washington University’s (GWU) School of Business founded the United Women in Business Foundation (UWIB) with the goal of providing like-minded women with a platform to educate, empower, and learn from one another.

The organization was initially a group of 11 women, but since its inception, the UWIB Board of Directors has expanded and includes a diverse group of leaders with expertise in a variety of areas. Many Board members were involved in an undergraduate women in business organization at GWU, GW Women in Business (GWWIB), and sought to create a similar, grassroots alliance of women dedicated to overcoming the educational gaps that keep women from achieving personal and professional success. UWIB has since been devoted to supporting the efforts of similar undergraduate women in business organizations across the country.

Currently, the focus of the Board of Directors is to develop and implement strategies for the continued growth and expansion of the organization. UWIB currently has chapters in Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C., and plans to expand membership opportunities into other major cities throughout the country in the near future.
