United Way of the Desert believes that all lives have equal value – everyone is entitled to a good quality life. That means a sound education, a family-sustaining income, and good health. United Way of the Desert is proud to serve all of the communities of the Coachella Valley - from Desert Hot Springs and Palm Springs to the Eastern Coachella Valley through Mecca.

We make sure that people in our community get the support services they need, while simultaneously addressing the root causes of poverty.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO LIVE UNITED?

It means understanding that when any part of our community is struggling financially, like the 48% of our children and 40% of our adults who live in poverty in the Coachella Valley, if affects the prosperity for us all.

It means recognizing that whether or not you know a child on the other side of town, it matters if that child grows up to be a contributing member of our community. High school dropout rates affect the wellbeing of our entire community.

It means having access to quality health care, encouraging healthy habits and lifestyles, and supporting programs to address community health issues such as mental health, obesity, and domestic violence.
