UAA’s mission is to promote excellence in collegiate aviation education by providing a forum through which students, faculty, staff and practitioners can share ideas, enhance the quality of education, and develop stronger programs and curricula.
UAA does this by encouraging students to choose aviation related careers, providing aviation scholarships, assisting in the professional development of individual members, and serving as a source of up-to-date information regarding today’s aviation education. We function as a professional association and a unifying voice for promoting and furthering aviation education as an academic discipline. In addition, our fundraising efforts support the UAA Endowment Fund for aviation scholarships and educational programs.
UAA provides and strengthens connections between education, the aviation industry, and government agencies. By fostering communication between academia and industry, we strive to help aviation programs produce graduates whose educations are solid, current, and relevant to the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s aviation industry. Thanks to the expertise of more than 500 members, including 105 accredited colleges and universities, the University Aviation Association plays a pivotal role in advancing degree-granting aviation programs that represent all segments of the aviation industry.
