Each year at the University of Idaho, students make the brave and bold choice to step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves. For thousands of bright, hard-working students, dreams of making the world a better place would not be achievable without the help of scholarships.
That’s where you come in.
Please help UI students through the Idaho Gives campaign. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of deserving UI students -- like Nathan Top.
At the age of 15, after attending the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, Nathan Top knew he wanted to play music. His passion for music and a dedication to his craft has given him the drive to pursue higher education in order to achieve his dream.
“The opportunities that the University has provided me are irreplaceable,” he said. “My teachers, especially Professor Vern Sielert, have helped me realize the kind of musician I want to be and also the kind of person I want to be. To be a good, working musician, you have to be a good person. That is a big thing I have learned at U of I, how to be a good person."
It’s through his scholarship opportunities that Top can pursue his education, while working to make sure he will succeed.
“Put very simply, without scholarships I would not have been able to attend University of Idaho” Top said. “I have two younger brothers who still live at home and there is no way I could have supported myself for all four years of my college career without the scholarships I received.”
Your generous gift to the UI scholarship fund through Idaho Gives is greatly appreciated!
