Advocates and activists at heart, bright-eyed social work students at the University of Utah College of Social Work initiated a student group, Voices of Diversity (VOD), to provide support, resources, and information to anyone interested in promoting understanding and social justice.

Special presentations, an acclaimed social justice lecture series, and intensive trainings help uncover the inequities and marginalization of oppressed groups, preparing students to become knowledgeable advocates and skilled allies.  Presentation topics have included:

  • Antidiscrimination Response Training
  • Invisible Disabilities
  • Modern-day Slavery of Migrant Farm Workers
  • Sexuality and Social Justice
  • Identifying and Responding to Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking
  • Wrongful Incarceration
  • Religious Divides
  • Workplace Sexism
  • Peace and Conflict Resolution Training

Operating on a shoestring budget, VOD makes invaluable learning opportunities accessible to students and the greater community by offering most presentations and trainings at little to no cost.  Please make a gift – large or small – to support VOD today.

Every voice matters.  Every dollar counts.
