What's unique and exciting about UP Academy is it's inclusive method of education that believes all students can learn and grow and that learning should be driven by interest, curiosity and joy.  It is a modern one room school house full of capable students learning at their own pace and collaborating on bigger projects.

UP Academy is creating a method of elementary inclusion education that can be taught and shared to benefit thousands of kids around the world.  Our students will become responsible, respectful, productive, successful citizens of the world.  Students with disabilities are consistently underserved.  A major contributor to this problem is the misunderstanding of the potential and capabilities of these students.  Our aim is to create a method that can be replicated in schools everywhere and to create awareness to change the social agreement reality of life with disabilities.  All students deserve to be given every opportunity to succeed.

Our core values of innovation, empathy and strength combined with our core philosophy of physical, emotional and academic learning, shape our individual and project-based curriculum. We believe that all students should have a voice and choice within their education.  Each student will have a learning advisor that they meet with weekly to discover strengths, weaknesses and set goals.  Projects are based on content that is student-led, and our educators incorporate learning objectives to match students strengths and challenges.  Knowledge is gained through individual learning projects and differentiated lessons, to meet each student at their ability level and push them to achieve more.

In addition to it's unique learning style, UP Academy will be known for it's integrated neurodevelopment program.   It is based on the structure of conductive education which believes that every child is capable of gaining the skills necessary to be successful in life. Our conductors shape the way the students interact with their environment. In addition, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy are all seamlessly integrated throughout the school day to keep learning relevant.  Support is given when and where it is needed so that each child has what they need to succeed.  Our ideal classroom is composed of 70% neuro-typical children and 30% differently-abled children.

What a year it has been.  We continue to look for an appropriate location to launch our elementary school, UP Academy.  We have purchased an after school program, Tap In Talents, that is serving as a stream of income (to support the efforts of amazing donors like you!) and a place to test curriculum and train teachers.  We are so excited about what the next year will bring.  We hope you continue with us on the journey as we launch our first elementary school.
