Upper Chichester Library and Resource Center

What started as a simple idea, became a powerful impact on the Upper Chichester community.  On September 10, 2001, brothers George and Gregory Daniel, created the community's first library as their Eagle Scout project. They collected over 10,000 donated books and opened a small 1,500 square-foot storefront, that continues to serve over 17,000 residents today.

For almost 25 years, our "Tiny but Mighty" library has inspired children, supported students, connected seniors, and brought the community together, by offering story time, STEM classes, senior programs, employment help, summer reading, and more. Libraries keep the "Unity" in Community! At Upper Chichester Library, we take our role as a welcoming place seriously, where people gather, learn, create and connect. 

Now we are ready for the next chapter!  We've outgrown our space.  Our dream to move into a larger 8,000 square-foot building at the former Boothwyn Fire Station is underway. Construction has begun! This new space will allow us to expand programs for children, seniors and families - and better serve our community's needs.
