Urban Housing of America Inc Louisiana

Urban Housing of America is a local affordable housing development organization.  Its mission is to create stable, vibrant, and healthy communities by developing, financing, and operating affordable housing programs. Urban Housing of America serves Louisiana families that consists of seniors, veterans, and persons with special needs, such as persons under VAWA programs; as well as persons who lack access to quality, clean and safe housing opportunities.

Urban Housing of America works to develop a more human world, where affordable housing projects are assets to their communities. We do this by providing hands on day-to-day interactive management, resident involvement, and ongoing easy access to outside community services that offer medical, financial, educational training and social support.  We address the needs of all people who have fallen victim to economic hardships, such as the loss of residence due to a storm or fire, a death or terminal illness of its family's primary provider.  

Our mission provides the opportunity for persons to build skills and re-develop their full potential as valued citizens that have changed their circumstances to being fully self-supportive and independent.  Urban Housing of America knows from its many past experiences, that affordable housing, when coupled with supportive training programs can improve the economic status of Louisiana residents. We know that our transforming neighborhoods that also provide community training and other support services does stabilize lives.

Some of the community services we offer are job training and placement, food distribution, gardening, educational tutoring and healthy social activities.  Your contribution and/or in-kind services really makes an impact here.
