Mission: Ursuline Support Services helps individuals experiencing challenges posed by life's transitions, inspiring hope through protection, education, and advocacy. Vision: As Southwestern Pennsylvania's pre-eminent provider of life-transition services, Ursuline Support Services is widely recognized as an innovative and desirable partner and provider. Those experiencing transitions see Ursuline as a leader in guardianship, protective services, service coordination, and grief support. They,and other leaders in the community, value Ursuline Support Services' expertise and view the organization as a "go-to" community resource. The organization is financially sound because it operates several thriving social enterprises, and has been able to attract a large and sustainable cadre of donors, supporters, and volunteers.

In 1984, Ursuline began providing guardianship with Allegheny County to serve persons 60+, low income, and referred by Protective Services or Care Management. Our 'court support' serves referrals from Orphans' Court and others in the community. Our private fee-for-service program is for wards who can afford necessary services. We also serve as Guardian in more than 13 counties outside of the Pittsburgh area. Since its inception, Ursuline has been named Guardian for more than 2,500 persons deemed incapacitated. Most wards have no family so Guardians may be the only ones who visit them to ensure they are receiving the care they need and deserve. Program leaders ensure appropriate services are provided to the clients. Currently, there are five National Certified Guardians on staff and all guardians?regardless of certification status--meet the standards of the National Guardianship Association of which Ursuline Support Services is a member agency.
