Utah Arts & Cultural Coalition dba NowPlayingUtah

In April 2008 the Utah Division of Arts & Museums, Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts and Parks program, and Visit Salt Lake (VSL) came together to launch the NowPlayingUtah.com (NPU) website (http://www.nowplayingutah.com/) in response to a growing need for a comprehensive and easily-accessible calendar for arts and cultural events.  In just four years, NPU has become the premiere online event calendar promoting arts and cultural events in the Salt Lake valley and the state of Utah.
 
Utah has a vibrant arts and culture community complete with top notch dance, film, theater, museums, music and sports. In an area with so many entertainment choices, the main challenge is to connect locals and visitors alike, to the performances, exhibits and events that enrich their leisure time. Now Playing Utah provides an efficient, effective and economical means for arts and cultural organizations to market their programs and performances to a broad community and to cultivate new audiences.  All Utah arts, entertainment, and cultural organizations can list their events FREE on NPU by submitting the relevant information directly to the site for posting. NPU highlights all the artistic disciplines: dance, theater, visual art, film, and music, as well as cultural resources such as: historical sites, zoological and botanical parks, sports, cultural festivals and museums of all kinds.
 
NowPlayingUtah.com publicizes Utah events to the local community as well as to out-of-state visitors.  NPU currently represents a significant portion of the arts and cultural communities along the Wasatch Front and is growing and expanding its influence throughout the state.  The ultimate goal is to increase attendance at arts and cultural events, and because of NowPlayingUtah.com, literally every artist, organization and venue has the means to promote and market themselves to residents and visitors alike at no cost.
