Utah Friends of Basset Hounds

A nonprofit organization

Utah Friends of Basset Hounds, Inc., a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, is a rescue group that provides veterinary care, food and shelter to Basset Hounds needing assistance in Utah. The hounds are treated with care and respect; decisions are made based on compassion and concern for the quality of life of each individual hound. We place them into foster and permanent homes, with the personality, behavior and special needs of each dog being a priority

We work in direct cooperation with all local and state shelters and the public; easing the burden on local shelters by taking Bassets from the shelters or before they enter them.

UFBH also provides education to the public and prospective adoptive families about the Basset Hound breed; making sure the adopting family know what they are getting into and the commitment they’ll be making when they adopt.

We spay or neuter, vaccinate, microchip, provide wellness exams, heartworm tests and provide any medical attention needed for each hound upon arrival. Assistance is provided to Basset Hound adopters to keep their dogs in a safe, loving environment and emotional and training support when needed, throughout the dog’s lifetime.
