Utah Nonprofits Association (UNA) exists to ensure these organizations have the tools, voice, and support they need to succeed, so the people and communities they serve can thrive. For more than 35 years, UNA has worked to build a resilient, connected nonprofit sector. 

UNA is the statewide backbone organization for Utah’s nonprofit sector. We unify, strengthen, and elevate nonprofits through practical training, cost-saving benefits, statewide advocacy, and meaningful connections. Our work goes beyond individual organizations—we strengthen the entire sector so nonprofit leaders can focus on what matters most: mission and impact. UNA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a diverse revenue model, an engaged board of directors, and a deep commitment to building extraordinary nonprofits.

Utah is home to more than 12,000 active nonprofit organizations, employing nearly 135,000 people—about 6.7% of Utah’s workforce. These organizations generate more than $28 billion in annual revenue and hold over $57 billion in assets, making nonprofits a significant and essential part of Utah’s economy and well‑being. 

Yet behind this scale is a powerful truth:

• Over 75% of Utah’s nonprofits operate on budgets under $100,000
• Over 90% operate under $500,000 annually
• There are nonprofits in every county, often doing more with less

These organizations serve thousands of Utahns, but many nonprofits are stretched thin, operate with limited resources, are facing funding uncertainty, and an increasing demand for services. UNA helps close the gap by:
