Utah Philharmonic Orchestra

A nonprofit organization

$85 raised by 3 donors

Started in 1999 as a small group of liked-minded enthusiasts who wanted to play the music they love, the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra has grown into an organization that engages individuals and families throughout Utah. In 2010, the orchestra board expanded their vision to become more than a single community orchestra and started serving multiple cities--those without orchestras and added youth programs and internationally reknowned guest artists. Now a self-funded, tax exempt organization, the orchestra has hosted concerts in up to nine ciites each season. The crown jewel is the annual concerto competition, now in its 13th year, which is the only competition open to all ages and all instruments including a vocal category in Utah. Teachers from all over Utah encourage their students to compete and the 6 winners perform as soloists accompanied by the orchestra in the final season concert.

The UPO is seeking donations to help youth be engaged in live symphonic experiences through after school ensembles and performances that will help them connect, create and feel the transformative power of music.
